About Greg McKay

I've been an avid amateur astronomer since the age of 11 when I found an old Sears refractor in my parents' attic. It had been my older brothers and he had lost interest in it. After discovering the craters on the moon and then a bit later the rings of Saturn and Jupiter's moons I was hooked!
Over the years I've upgraded my gear and now have a Meade 12" LX200GPS but my real passion is just laying out during meteor showers and observing with the naked eye. Of course wide-field photography is a large part of my enjoyment so I hope to be able to share many captures here with the other members.
