8 October 2013 Aurora with Meteor Shower
While shooting photos of the moon and Venus, I noticed a green glow to the north. With in 30 minutes the aurora moved south and brightened. This 25 second exposure captured 3 or more meteors in the top right of the image. One brilliant almost fireball was seen too, though out of camera view. I did not see any of these with the naked eye. It is amazing what a Nikon D600 and a good lens will do.
